How to Adopt

Before adopting a dog, please consider the following:

bullet

Dogs require your time! They need exercise to be happy and healthy. They require obedience training to be a welcomed member of your community. They crave human love and attention.

bullet

Dogs need protection!  Dogs require a fence to keep them safe and to prevent them from getting lost or stolen.  They need an ID tag  to help insure they will be returned safely if anything does ever happen to them.

bullet

Dogs require a portion of the family budget! Beside the dog food and annual vet checks and vaccinations, dogs have emergencies too. Be prepared for any vet bill just as you would be prepared for any doctor bill for your children.

bullet

Dogs may need a license! Most communities require dogs to be licensed. Failure to comply may result in fines and can jeopardize your rights to have a dog.

bullet

Dogs require all of the above for their entire life! A dog may live for as long as twenty years. It is your responsibility to provide for the dog in its old age just as you did the first year you had it. Adopting a dog requires a serious commitment.

If you are ready to take on the responsibility of owning a dog and you see a dog you are interested in,  please email us for an application.  We will also be glad to send you more information and pictures of the dog.

If your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit and an opportunity for you to meet the dog.  Thanks for your interest in giving a rescued dog a home!
